To understand ED we must understand the basic anatomy of Penis and a series of physiological changes that occur during the process. Penis is composed of three parallel hollow cylinders of spongy tissue bound by a thick membranous sheath. The upper two are called corpora cavernosa and lower one is called corpus spongiosum through which the urethra passes.
Penis has numerous blood vessels. The head of penis is called Glans consists of spongiosum and has a higher concentration of nerves than shaft of the penis? That’s why glans is more sensitive to touch than the shaft. The size and shape of penis is different with every individual. The non-erect penis is smaller in size and it increases in size after erection from 1.5 to 2 times.
Simply thinking, stimulating the glans, watching the sexual movies or photos starts a series of sensory signalling from the penis to the spinal centre and to the sex centre in the brain. Which causes release of Nitric Oxide {NO} in the penis and dilates the arterioles of the penis, resulting in the rush of blood towards the penis and simultaneously closes the venous opening thus led to the trap of blood inside the chambers of penis making the penis erect.
The causes can Physical or Emotional. But in most of the cases it is involvement of both physical and emotional factors which leads to ED.
That is why ED is said to be psycho somatic disorder.
ED can be diagnosed with a procedure in which
This is the most important part for a patient to understand. There are abundant of options available in the market for the treatment ranging from instant relief to long term treatments, surgeries, pumps etc. But which is one suits you best let your doctor decide. Here I want to stress that due to trauma, male ego and shame associated with the problem most of the males do not discuss or try to avoid the problem with their doctors?
Men starts self-medication without knowing the actual reason behind the problem. Or some may end up in fake clinics and spend huge money on the treatment without cross checking the doctor’s qualification. This is wrong, always consult a doctor who is qualified and discuss your problem in detail. He is the best person to decide right course of treatment.
Remember, you may have the money but it is your body which you are experimenting on, you can still earn the money but an irreparable damage to the body, nerves may lead to permanent weaknesses. So, decide prudently and proceed with caution.
